Braves Briefing: Michael Harris tells Vaughn Grissom to be great in Boston
After Vaughn Grissom was traded by the Atlanta Braves to the Boston Red Sox for Chris Sale, his best friend on the team had some feelings about the move.
Grissom was a fan favorite and beloved in the clubhouse. As Atlanta President of Baseball Operations Alex Anthopoulos said, it was "painful" trading away Grissom to the Red Sox.
On X, Michael Harris II went through the gamut of emotions. First he was sad upon initially hearing the news, tweeting a popular gif of a crying child.
But after a bit of time passed, Harris quote tweeted a post from Bally Sports highlighting Grissom's time in Atlanta. Harris added, "Go Be Great GRRIIIIIISSOOOOOOMMMMM" and tagged him in the post.
How long until pitchers and catchers report?
43 days. Atlanta's expected to ask pitchers and catchers to report on Monday, February 12th, in advance of their first spring training game on February 24th against the Tampa Bay Rays. An official announcement of the reporting date will come in January.
