Former Atlanta Braves Star Homers On The First Pitch He Sees In Spring Training

The former Atlanta Braves star had a strong start to spring training.

Spring Training is in full swing for all MLB teams and a former Atlanta Braves star is making noise early.

Over in Camelback Ranch as part of Cactus League play, the Los Angeles Dodgers were taking on the San Diego Padres in some baseball action during Spring Training.

Former Braves star Freddie Freeman blasted the first pitch he saw and it resulted in a home run. The long shot came off of Padres pitcher Jhony Brito.

Freeman saw a Brito-fastball on the outside corner and made perfect contact with it to get it over the wall in left-center field. His score gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead over the Padres.

His teammates Will Smith and Max Muncy had some flyouts to centerfield, but ultimately, the Dodgers would win 4-1 after defeating the Padres 14-1 the day prior in Peoria.

Freeman said after the game to the media that the batting order will be unveiled soon and it will answer some questions on where he and new Los Angeles Dodger Shoehei Ohtani will be in the order.

"I think we'll find out in a few days. Because I think Shohei and I are both playing in his first game. I've hit in both [2nd and 3rd], so it doesn't bother me where I hit."

Freeman hit for .331 at the plate last season with 211 hits, 29 home runs, and 102 RBIs. He was drafted by the Braves in the second round of the 2007 MLB Draft. He played 12 seasons with the Atlanta Braves before signing a deal with the Dodgers.
