Jerome Jurenovich on the Braves pitching for 2020

What will Atlanta's pitching staff be like in 2020?
Well, Cole Hamels will now be available. He was scheduled to come back sometime after May, so with the season likely to start in July at the earliest, Hamels could be in the rotation from day one.
But what will become of Felix Hernandez, who had a great spring training? The Braves might piggyback these two veteran starting pitchers. They're older, experienced and might need their innings limited just a bit, even in a truncated season.
Mike Soroka and Max Fried still will be at the top of the rotation. That's a good righty-lefty duo to have lead the way.
Sean Newcomb looked determined to regain a spot in the rotation with a strong month of March. He was on his way to winning a job in the starting five.
Will the Braves want Kyle Wright part of the rotation? Again, it might take complimentary starting pitchers - more than just five - to win a different season like the one we're likely facing.
Wright had a tremendous spring training. He may be ready to go to start the season. The Braves are going to need their best pitchers on the mound, and Wright showed in spring training he may be on that list. He was really impressive.
The depth will be there. The Braves will have a lot of good arms to start the season.
