UPDATED: How to watch the Braves as they look for a Saturday sweep of the Mets with Spencer Strider on the mound

Because of persistent storms during Atlanta's trip to New York in late April, the Braves are playing a doubleheader today against the Mets in Citi Field. The Braves are making AAA starting pitcher Allan Winans the designated 27th man for today, with him starting game one against RHP Denyi Reyes, while Spencer Strider gets the start in the nightcap against LHP Jose Quintana.

NEW LINEUP ALERT! Sean Murphy gets the start at catcher, but moved down in the order a bit - he's batting 7th. DH Marcell Ozuna and LF Eddie Rosario each move up one spot in the lineup, batting 5th and 6th, respectively. Michael Harris moved up to #8, with trade acquisition making his first start for Atlanta at shortstop, batting 9th.

As expected, we got a few changes for game two - Travis d'Arnaud entered the lineup, batting 5th, as well as Kevin Pillar getting the start in place of Eddie Rosario since Atlanta's facing a lefty and batting 8th. Orlando Arcia re-entered the starting lineup, as well, after getting game one off for maintenance and is batting 7th.

Pitching Matchups for the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, August 12th

Game One: Allan Winans vs Denyi Reyes

Starting for Atlanta in the makeup game is designated 27th man Allan Winans. He's making his 2nd career start for Atlanta - he went 4.1 innings against Milwaukee with five hits and two runs in an eventual 4-3 Brewers victory on July 22nd.

Opposing Atlanta is RHP Denyi Reyes. The offseason minor league signing is 0-1 with a 6.14 ERA in his six MLB appearances (one start), allowing five runs and eight hits in 7.1 innings, with three walks and eight strikeouts. He's not on the 40-man roster, having been DFA'd on July 4th, and will necessitate a roster move as he is not the designated 27th-man. He's mostly started in AAA Syracuse, with a 5.77 ERA in his 64 innings this season. He's allowed a mind-blowing 17 homers in the minors this season, good for a 2.4 HR/9, so look for Atlanta to attempt to jump on him early and often.

Game Two: Spencer Strider vs Jose Quintana

Starting for Atlanta in the nightcap is Spencer Strider. 12-4 with a 3.94 ERA in his 132.1 innings this season, Strider's still leading all of baseball in both strikeouts (211) and strikeout rate (14.4 K/9). He's been victimized somewhat by bad luck on balls in play, as his FIP - Fielding Independent Pitching - is a NL-leading 2.93. Strider's coming off of his worst start of his career, only lasting 2.2 innings against the Pirates with six runs allowed on five hits, with three walks and three strikeouts. He's faced the Mets seven times in his career, and is 3-1 with a 7.23 ERA - his two starts against them this season have been rough, with the Braves winning the May 1st start (and Strider getting the win) after giving up only four runs on five hits in six innings. The June 8th start, however, saw Strider give up eight runs on eight hits in four innings, although Atlanta's offense powered the Braves to a 13-10 home win.

Opposing Atlanta is LHP Jose Quintana. 0-3 in a 3.42 ERA this season in his four starts, Quintana's start to his season was delayed due to rib surgery in March. He's probably not thrilled to draw Atlanta, as he's 2-3 with a 7.53 ERA in six career starts against the Braves. He's given up ten home runs in 28.2 career innings to Atlanta, and several Braves have hit him well in the past - Ozzie Albies is batting .625 with two homers and three RBIs, while DH Marcell Ozuna is batting .438 with one homer and five RBIs. One interesting bit of small sample size dominance - Ronald Acuña Jr is 0-7 against Jose Quintana.

How to Watch the Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets on Saturday, August 12th

Today's doubleheader is in a day/night format - game one, scheduled for 1:10 PM ET, is a makeup of a rainout on 4/29, with the broadcast being carried on Bally Sports Southeast. Game two is at its regularly scheduled time, 7:15 PM ET, and will be carried as a national broadcast by Fox.
