The Chicago Cubs (4-4) are gearing up for a tough three-game series that will begin on Monday at Wrigley Field against the Seattle Mariners (4-6).

The Mariners are one of many teams who had high expectations coming into the season but have fell short early. The Cubs, on the other hand, have been exceeding expectations in some areas and falling short in others.

They are a .500 team.

This series will be another good test as they once again face an American League West team.

Monday night will feature Drew Smyly taking the mound for Chicago. He will face strikeout artist Luis Castillo of the Mariners. First pitch is due for 6:40 p.m. CT.

Sunday's game will be televised in the local Chicago market on the Marquee Sports Network. It will also be streamed live on MLB.tv for those who reside outside the market.
