There were multiple changes to the Chicago Cubs' organization this offseason, starting with the departure of assistant general manager/vice president of pitching, Craig Breslow.

That was followed up by them making a decision to fire manager David Ross and hire Craig Counsell.

This resulted in shifting of roles for many front office members and new coaches to be hired to Counsell's staff. All positions have now reportedly been filled.

Now, the Cubs have made another hire within their organization.

Matt Hinkley announced on his own social media page that he has been hired to become their Arizona Pitching Coordinator. He had previously spent the last two years at Cressey Sports Performance and is the co-founder of Kansas City Strength & Conditioning.

As part of his business, Hinkley operated KC Throwing, which is a biomechanics, pitch design and velocity development group.

Beyond that, not much is known about Hinkley, but he's taking over an important role as outlined by Brett Taylor of Bleacher Nation.

"Because Arizona is home not only to the Cubs’ Spring Training facilities and rookie ball club, but also where so many guys go to do rehab work, offseason, work, etc., the pitching coordinator there figures to work with, or at least have eyes on, most of the organization at one point or another. Important job," he writes.

Taylor also seems to think this is a positive hire for Chicago and what he could bring to the franchise.

"The Cressey Sports Performance center is an extremely well-regarded independent development shop, so getting someone from their organization to join the Cubs sounds like a great move."

Nothing has been officially announced by the Cubs yet, but it appears they have decided to make another hire this offseason.
