Chicago Cubs Fall in Power Rankings Following Rough Week

In this story:
The Chicago Cubs fell in MLB's weekly power rankings after going 2-4 over the last week.
The Cubs now sit at 16 on the list, a fall of one spot from 15 last week.
Chicago won the series against the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field earlier in the week 2-1. They outscored the Padres 11-5, a significant series win. However, they were swept by the surging Miami Marlins over the weekend at LoanDepot Park.
The sweep at the hands of the Marlins was a tough one as they lost by one run each game. The offense came through well and aside from one game - Saturday's matchup with Caleb Kilian on the mound - the pitching staff looked great too.
This week is a good opportunity to take advantage of the schedule as they face the Washington Nationals for four games beginning on Tuesday. Then the Cubs have a redemption opportunity when they host Miami at Wrigley Field over the weekend.
