The Chicago Cubs are gunning for the National Central this upcoming 2023 MLB season. They have made massive splashes in free agency in an attempt to close the gap between themselves and the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers.

Additions such as Dansby Swanson, Jameson Taillon, Cody Bellinger, Trey Mancini, and bullpen acquisitions have put them firmly in the mix not just for a Wild Card spot, but the division.

OddsChecker has new odds for the Cubs and their chances this season. Currently, Chicago has +650 odds, or a 13.3-percent chance to win the NL Central.

Those are vastly better than at the beginning of the 2022 MLB season thanks to the $300 million-plus investment that the ownership group has funneled into the team this winter.

At the very least, these odds indicate that the Cubs should be competitive in the division, a stark change from even just one year ago.
