Chicago Cubs Make Flurry of Roster Moves Ahead of Matchup With Twins

In this story:
The Chicago Cubs have shaken up their roster a bit ahead of their Friday evening clash with the Minnesota Twins.
The Cubs have placed second baseman Nico Hoerner on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. It is retroactive to May 9.
In a corresponding move, Chicago has recalled Miles Mastrobouni from Triple-A Iowa.
Mastrobouni slashed .200/.200/.250 in 20 at-bats this season at the MLB level.
Additionally, the Cubs have activated left-hander Brandon Hughes from the 15-day injured list. It's a big boost to Chicago's bullpen as they now get a lefty to add to the mix.
To make room for Hughes, Chicago has optioned right-hander Javier Assad to Triple-A Iowa. Assad has been up and down all season as the pitching staff has been in flux.
First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and the game will be nationally televised on Apple TV+ in their Friday Night Baseball program.
