Cubs Ready to 'Regroup' After Getting Swept by Diamondbacks

In this story:
It was a tough weekend for the Chicago Cubs as they were swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks and are now on the outside of the playoff picture after holding the second Wild Card position for months.
They head back home and will get ready for two series against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies, both who are under .500.
"It's tough. But we can't sit here and dwell on it too long. We’ve got to get back home, regroup and get ready for Pittsburgh," rookie pitcher Jordan Wicks told Jesus Cano of MLB.com.
Wicks was on the mound for the finale, suffering his first loss of the season. The left hander had a 3-0 record with a 1.99 ERA prior to Sunday.
It was the shortest outing of the young rookie's career when he gave up three earned runs in the first inning and got pulled after pitching 4 1/3 innings.
The offense couldn't overcome what the Diamondbacks threw at them throughout the series, something that hasn't happed for the Cubs often this season.
"We weren’t very good. They were better than we were [in] all aspects of the game. They played better defense, pitched better, timed their hitting and ran the bases better. Just got beat all the way around," manager David Ross said after the game.
Chicago will need to figure out something fast if they want to play in the postseason.
The good news is they head home for six games where they have a 41-34 record on the year.
"Bad road trip -- trying to wash everything off with the off-day (Monday) and get back at it on Tuesday," Ross said.
Another rookie, Javier Assad, will be tasked with making sure the Cubs stop their five game losing streak when he gets the ball on Tuesday.
