Diamondbacks Minor League Report 4/12/2023

The Diamondbacks minor league affiliates combined for a perfect 4-0 record.
Joe Mantiply pitched in a rehab assignment with Double-A Amarillo, throwing a clean sixth inning with a strikeout in just 14 pitches. His sinker was around 88-90 MPH and his secondary pitches looked sharp. Mantiply is working back from shoulder inflammation that put him on the 15-day injured list to start the season.

Triple-A: Reno Aces 6, Sacramento River Cats 5; 4-6
Left-hander Tommy Henry went 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, two walks, and nine strikeouts. He threw mostly fastballs and curveballs, which accounted for 85 of his 94 pitches. Fastball was 88-92 MPH.
Dominic Fletcher (No. 14) walked and scored a run, but was hitless in his other four at-bats.
Emmanuel Rivera had an RBI double as part of a five-run eighth inning.
Seth Beer was 0-for-2, but drew a walk.
Diego Castillo singled to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.
Dominic Canzone (No. 16) launched a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Jorge Barrosa (No. 24) went 0-for-3, but had a bases loaded walk in the eighth inning.
Anthony Misiewicz threw a scoreless eighth inning with a pair of strikeouts to get the win.
Mitchell Stumpo gave up a hit and a walk, but otherwise pitched a scoreless ninth for his first save on the season.
Double-A: Amarillo Sod Poodles 13, Corpus Christi Hooks 10; 3-2
Amarillo baserunners stole seven bases, setting a franchise record.
Ryan Bliss (No. 25) had two hits and two stolen bases in six at-bats.
Jordan Lawlar (No. 3) singled, doubled, and drew a walk. He was part of a double steal with Bliss.

Caleb Roberts was 2-for-6 with a triple.
Deyvison De Los Santos (No. 12) singled twice, walked, drove in a run, and scored twice.
Tim Tawa (No. 26) had two hits and scored three runs.
A.J. Vukovich (No. 13) had three hits, walked, and scored three runs.
High-A: Hillsboro Hops 4, Everett AquaSox 3 (F/10); 4-1
Avery Short fired 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing four hits, walked no one, and struck out three. Short threw 67 pitches.
Shane Muntz got three more hits, including a double, and is hitting .500 (6-for-12) on the season with a 1.654 OPS.
Wilderd Patino (No. 18) struck out twice, but walked three times, stole a base, and scored a run.
Conor Grammes (No. 27) couldn't hold a 3-2 lead, allowing one run in two innings with three strikeouts.
Kevin Graham had a walk-off single in the 10th on a ground ball to first and outraced the pitcher to the bag. Graham's right foot hit the bag just before the pitcher touched the base with his left foot based on video of the play.

Low-A: Visalia Rawhide 5, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 4; 1-4
Joe Elbis (No. 23) allowed two runs on three hits, no walks, and four strikeouts.
Druw Jones (No. 4) went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. In his first five games of the season, he is 1-for-19 (.053) with 10 strikeouts and three walks.
Christian Cerda had two hits, a double, a walk, drove in two, and scored a run out of the clean-up spot.
Manuel Peña (No. 18) walked and scored.
