In this story:

Even though the San Diego Padres have gotten off to a pretty disappointing start, no one can deny that they are still must-watch TV. The Friars were a part of a 20-year deal with the network previously but it all fell apart recently due to Diamond Sports refusing to pay their last fee at the deadline on Tuesday.

Therefore, Padres fans have been in shambles wondering what is to come next for the clubhouse and how their games will be available to watch moving forward. This is where the MLB has stepped in and will now be streaming San Diego's matches for free all the way up until their Sunday outing against the Chicago Cubs.

However, nothing in life is free forever and the MLB will then shift to charging $19.99 per month through their app along with an option of $74.99 for the entire year.

For San Diego natives, they really luck out as they have a number of local streaming & cable options to choose from depending on their carrier. These include DirecTV, Spectrum, Cox, and AT&T as some of the most popular choices.

"Today's Padres game will be availble in San Diego on DirecTV (channel 694-3), DirecTV Stream (channel 694) and U-verse (HD channel 1781/ SD channel 781). The new channel is called “MLB San Diego Padres.”"
