Texas Rangers Update Josh Jung, Travis Jankowski Injuries

Josh Jung and Travis Jankowski both left Wednesday's Texas Rangers loss to Cincinnati Reds early.

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said on Friday that both third baseman Josh Jung and outfielder Travis Jankowski would play on Friday night against the New York Yankees.

That echoed the positive report that Bochy gave on Thursday before Game 1 of the series.

Jankowski will hit second and Jung will hit fifth.

"Both of them are good to go," Bochy said. "Josh came in and said he feels good and he's ready to play. Travis I was probably more concerned with, but last night as the game went on he just started feeling better and better so he's out there."

The Rangers (14-11) continue a four-game series with the New York Yankees on Friday night at Globe Life Field. First pitch is schedule for 7:05 p.m.

Jung exited Wednesday's 5-3 loss at the Cincinnati Reds in the second inning after being hit on the hand by a pitch. X-rays were negative, but it affected him enough to leave the game.

Jankowski suffered experienced left hip tightness after diving for a ball in left-center field.

Both players were on the field during pregame warmups Thursday, taking part in throwing drills and baseball activities.

Ezequiel Duran is starting at third against the Yankees. The outfield alignment is Robbie Grossman (left), Leody Taveras (center) and Adolis García (right).
