Will Texas Rangers Top Prospect Wyatt Langford Replace Adolis Garcia On World Series Roster?

In this story:
PHOENIX — Texas Rangers fans, let's tap the brakes on the Wyatt Langford fantasy.
No, the Rangers' top prospect wasn't going to replace Adolis Garcia on their 26-man World Series roster.
Although it's technically possible with a little bit of paperwork, the Rangers wouldn't call on a player whose minor-league season ended on Sept. 23 to step into the World Series in November.
When asked if Langford was ever seriously considered, Rangers general manager Chris Young laughed and said "Uh, no."
Adding Langford to the team's 40-man roster would alter all sorts of roster scenarios for the Rangers going into the future and start Langford's professional clock.
The Rangers chose Ezequel Duran to replace Garcia, who has been sidelined for the remainder of the World Series with an oblique strain. The ALCS MVP and Game 1 hero was injured swinging in the eighth inning of the 3-1 victory that gave Texas a 2-1 series lead tried to test the injury before Game 4 but was not in the lineup for Game 4.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy acknowledged Tuesday before Game 4 that Garcia may have to be replaced on the roster. Max Scherzer (back) is in the same boat.
Langford, who turns 22 in two weeks, is older than left fielder Evan Carter, who has had a record-setting start for the Rangers during this postseason run.
Fellow rookie Josh Jung, 25, has also had an excellent postseason. Both of their exploits have undoubtedly perked fans' interest in calling on Langford to help fill a void if Garcia is lost for the remainder of the World Series with an oblique strain.
Langford hit .360 with 10 homers, 17 doubles, and 30 RBI in 44 minor league games this summer, including five games with Triple-A Round Rock. The outfielder was a first-round pick out of Florida in July.
