Cleveland dominates White Sox in not-so-fun affair
Tough stuff: The Sox bats went quiet against Mike Clevinger and Cleveland tonight.
Tonight's Cleveland-Chicago score says it all, doesn't it?
Cleveland won it, 11-0. Yep, that's it!
The Sox used a modern-day baseball technique, with an opener tonight.
The thought was good, and hopefully they do not abandon that in the future because of the outcome tonight.
Carson Fulmer got the nod to go one inning, but finishing that inning proved extremely difficult.
Fulmer allowed a grand slam to Jose Ramirez after walking two batters in the inning. He did get through that never-ending inning, which was the most shocking out of it all.
Cleveland used the home run ball to extend its lead in the next two innings. Roberto Perez launched his 24th of the year to give his team a 5-0 lead.
Ramirez came up in the third inning and hit a three-run home run to give him a sweet, seven-RBI night. That's one way to come back from the injured list.
Cleveland kept piling on the runs later in the game thanks to an Oscar Mercado three-run home run. Sensing a pattern at all?
Mike Clevinger looked like a healthy Mike Clevinger tonight. He used his high-velocity fastball to go along with his plus-slider to overpower Sox hitters. The righty finished his night going seven innings, allowing five hits and just one walk with 10 strikeouts.
The Sox did make a cool play that caught the attention of MLB's Twitter account. That's a positive!

Zack Collins also collected two hits and a walk, so that was promising as well. That was about it, though — well, Steve Stone and Jason Benetti talking about malts made the game interesting toward the end.
If it makes you feel any better, the Brewers won and the Cubs lost, making the Cubs tragic number just ONE to make the playoffs. Hilarious. It's therapy when you watch an 11-0 loss.
The Sox are back at it tomorrow night with Ross Detwiler on the hill.
