Gamethread: Twins at White Sox

Hey, Ricky ... good job with tonight's lineup!

Ace opener: Lucas Giolito looks to pick up right where he left off against the Twins from last Wednesday. (Clinton Cole/South Side Hit Pen)

  • Cy Young candidate Lucas Giolito gets the start for the White Sox tonight. Giolito threw one of the best games of his career in his last outing against these same Twinkies last week. He can now say he has thrown a nine-inning, complete-game shutout against the Twins and Astros this season. Impressive stuff, Lucas. Hopefully he can keep it up tonight.
  • Michael Pineda gets the ball for the Twins. The Sox faced Pineda last week in Minny, when he gave up four earned runs over seven innings.
  • Lineups: I'm tipping my cap to Ricky for this one. I don't see Jon Jay batting in front of Anderson or Eloy, so this is promising.

Let me dream for a bit. Let's replace Engel/Garcia with Robert, Sanchez with Madrigal, and sign/move Anthony Rendon to first and DH Abreu. You good with that for next year?

OK, here's what the Twins will bring tonight.
