It seems fair to say Bill Belichick won't be invited to speak at any testimonials for Charley Casserly. The former GM, who now works for CBS, reported before the game on Sunday that Tom Brady had three broken ribs. Belichick mocked that report earlier today when appearing on WEEI. "There's so much stuff out there that is so inaccurate that it's comical," Belichick said. "Who's been wrong more than Casserly? His percentage is like a meteorologist. ... He has no relationship with this team, less than zero. "At least he put his name on it. I'll put my name on it, too. He's 100-percent wrong." (Boston Globe)Comment

Concerned about a lackluster start that has left them in ninth place in the Western Conference and motivated not to pay a hefty luxury-tax bill for moderate success, the Utah Jazz appear willing to trade anyone on their roster but point guard Deron Williams, multiple league sources told Yahoo! Carlos Boozer, who is making $12.6 million in the final season of his contract, has attracted interest, but sources said the Jazz have yet to enter any substantive trade talks involving the forward. Red Sox getting bargain in Beltre
According to a baseball source, Adrian Beltre has agreed to terms with the Sox on a one-year deal, with a player option for a second year, to take over the starting job. Beltre's decision came down to a couple of West Coast teams (reportedly the Angels and A's) and the Sox, but Boston won out at a price far lower than agent Scott Boras had anticipated at the start of the offseason. Peter Gammons of the MLB Network reported the contract was for $9 million, with the option worth $5 million. It also has been reported there is a $1 million buyout of the deal.
