Video: Rookies pick (and sing) their own introduction songs

Mass media availability is rarely good for gleaning basketball insight, but it happens to be a wonderful platform for letting loose with broader, more whimsical inquiries.

In that vein, Lang Whitaker of NBA.com asked many attendees of the NBA's rookie photo shoot -- a free-for-all in which a cast of first-year players are tabbed for all kinds of official photos -- to select their own hypothetical pregame musical theme. Many of the rookies played along, with some even serenading Whitaker with a few bars of their chosen tunes. Great stuff all around, though it's tough to beat Whitaker's call and response with Oklahoma City's Steven Adams on The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles).
