Perkins played part of the season with the Cavs' G-League affiliate after the team released him in the preseason. He last played in an NBA game during the 2015-16 season while with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Perkins, 33, has career averages of 5.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 53.0 percent from the field. He will provide veteran leadership in the locker room.
