Boston Celtics guards Derrick White and Payton Pritchard made an appearance on Barstool's Pardon My Take. They were asked if there was any possibility that former Celtic big man Blake Griffin could make a return to the team this season.

White and Pritchard have always had close ties with the six-time All-Star, with the two always speaking of the mentorship that Griffin provided them.

"He's the best," White and Pritchard both stated.

A prominent question they received was why the former All-NBA player does not play anymore, with Griffin still showing some juice left in the tank with the Celtics last season.

"We begged him to; we've been begging him to," Pritchard said with a smile as White went into more detail. "I think the whole team has been begging him to come back to Boston."

Pritchard said he last reached out to him with a text a couple of weeks ago, asking if he was ready for one last ride at a potential run towards a championship.

"He said he's enjoying his life," stated Pritchard.

Host of Pardon My Take, Dan Katz, then got on a FaceTime call with Griffin, asking him why he is not still playing, jokingly asking him if it was because he cannot dunk anymore. Griffin then responded with a joke of his own, saying he regretted answering the phone.

"Yeah, we talk quite a bit," Griffin said. "I'm just enjoying life right now."

When asked if he guarantees or believes the Boston Celtics will win an NBA championship this year, Griffin showed no doubt.

"I think yeah, they're my favorites," he added. "I don't want to put bad juju on them, but yeah, they're the heavy favorite in my mind."

He was still questioned by the crew about why he would not want to come back and potentially win a ring.

"Oh man," Griffin responded as White and Pritchard started laughing. "If you get that out there and enough people start tweeting about it, then yeah, maybe I'll come back," he continued to joke when Katz asked if it was about his ability to still dunk.

Griffin has publicly stated a couple of times how great of a franchise and destination Boston is, voicing how much he really enjoyed his lone season as a Celtic.

"I mean, Boston is unbelievable," stated Griffin. "Playing in Boston was, like, one of the best experiences. The fans are incredible. The players on that team are just like such a great group of guys."

Given how late it is in the season, along with Boston's love for Neemias Queta and the likelihood of him getting the Celtics last roster spot, Griffin returning to Boston this season probably does not have much life behind it.

Joe Mazzulla said he had spoken with Griffin in the summer but left the former superstar alone once he said his family was his most important focus following Boston's East Finals loss last season.
