In a recent interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, Grant Williams discussed an embarrassing moment from last season’s early-March match against the Cleveland Cavaliers. With 0.8 seconds remaining in a tied game, the former Boston Celtics forward uttered “I’mma make them both” before infamously missing two free throws attempts.

Rooks revealed a video clip, in which Donovan Mitchell provided his perspective on the event.

"I think one of the funniest things was that after he missed, he grabbed the net," said Mitchell. "After the second one, he grabbed it after the second one as if the rim had moved -- like it wasn't his fault he missed both. Like, bruh, you done [expletive] it up already, might as well just take this 'L' and go right back to the bench."

Williams said that former teammate Marcus Smart also noticed that he grabbed the rim afterwards.

"Smart said 'you walked up to the rim like it moved.' And I said, in all honesty, bro, the second free throw went in and out, and I was just mad at the fact that it wouldn't fall."

In July, Williams was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a sign-and-trade agreement. This season, the 25-year-old is averaging 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
