On Monday, the Boston Celtics secured a 119-94 victory against the Detroit Pistons. Kristaps Porzingis registered 20 points and eight rebounds over 21 minutes. The Latvia native had been sidelined for the last five games with a hamstring injury.

Per The Athletic’s Jay King, Porzingis competed on a minutes restriction against the Pistons. Boston purposefully saved the majority of his playing time for the second half.

Porzingis expressed that it felt great to be back in action. He also indicated that he would’ve been able to play through the injury if it occurred during the playoffs.

With the Celtics, at 54-14, holding the best record in the NBA, it’s expected that Porzingis will be given opportunities to fully recover. They are currently on a six-game winning streak.

Boston's next game is scheduled for Wednesday, Mar. 20, against the Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden; tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. EST.
