Celtics Down a Starter vs. Nets on Tuesday

The Celtics, who at 41-12 sit atop the NBA standings, face the Nets, 21-31, on Tuesday night in Brooklyn. They'll play again Wednesday in Boston in their last game before the All-Star break.

In this story:

The Boston Celtics have two more games before the All-Star break. Their home-and-home mini-series with the Brooklyn Nets starts on Tuesday at Barclays Center.

The visitors already knew they were without trade-deadline acquisitions Jaden Springer and Xavier Tillman. The former is inactive due to right ankle impingement, while the latter is unavailable because of left knee injury management.

It would be surprising if either player makes their team debut before the All-Star break.

The same could apply to Kristaps Porzingis. After suffering a lower back contusion in the Celtics' 110-106 win over the Miami Heat on Super Bowl Sunday, the seven-foot-three center will not play on Tuesday.

Tuesday night's matchup against the Nets will tip off at 7:30 p.m. EST. Inside The Celtics will have content related to the game before, during, and afterward. Follow @BobbyKrivitsky on Twitter for updates and analysis from pregame to post.
