The Latest on Jaylen Brown's Availability for Celtics-Grizzlies Game

Sunday's matchup between the Celtics and Grizzlies won't feature Marcus Smart and may not include Jaylen Brown.

Sunday night in Bluff City, the Boston Celtics will try to earn their sixth-straight victory and extend the NBA's longest active win streak.

After defeating the Toronto Raptors 108-105 north of the border Friday night, Boston improved its record to 10-2, the best in the league to start the 2023-24 campaign.

It also improved the C's to 2-0 in the in-season tournament, giving them control of their destiny in group play. They're the only team in Group C without a loss.

While Sunday's opposition was supposed to include a familiar face, after injuring his left foot against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, Marcus Smart is out for this game and expected to miss three to five weeks.

There was also a chance the visitors were down a starter. But after slipping on Toronto's in-season tournament court, a surface receiving complaints from both teams, Jaylen Brown is available for the Celtics' matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, per Boston's injury report.

The two-time All-Star is dealing with a right adductor strain, but he participated in shoot around and worked out afterward in hopes of going from questionable for the contest to active for it.

Sunday night's matchup between the Celtics and Grizzlies will tip off at 8:00 EST at FedExForum. Inside The Celtics will continue to update Brown's status for the game and have content related to the contest coming out before, during, and afterward.
