Terry Rozier Will Make Heat Debut a Day Before Celtics Play Miami

In this story:
An eventful Tuesday in the Association included the Miami Heat acquiring a player who fits the player profile they were targeting when trying to bring Damian Lillard to South Beach.
In exchange for sending Kyle Lowry and a 2027 lottery-protected first-round pick that becomes unprotected if it conveys to 2028 to the Charlotte Hornets, the defending Eastern Conference champions added Terry Rozier.
The veteran scoring guard will provide a needed boost for an offense that ranks 26th in points per game, averaging 110.9 per contest. The 29-year-old from Youngstown, Ohio, is producing 23.2 points, taking 7.7 threes and knocking them down at a 35.8 percent clip this season. He's also dishing out 6.6 assists, grabbing 3.9 rebounds, and swiping 1.1 steals.
And with his trade to Miami complete, a day after the deal, Rozier will make his Heat debut in Wednesday's matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
One would think he'll also be in the lineup on Thursday against the team that drafted him, the Boston Celtics.
The 16th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft spent the first four years of his career in Boston, averaging 7.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He most notably stepped in for Kyrie Irving as the Celtics' starting point guard, helping them reach the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals and come within one win of playing in a best-of-seven for the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
