The Boston Celtics have signed former Washington Wizards guard Jordan Schakel to a training camp contract, per Spotrac's Keith Smith.

Schakel, 25, averaged 1.5 points, 0.5 assists, and 0.5 steals per game across two appearances with the Wizards during the 2022-23 regular season.

Before his time with the Wizards, the 6-foot-6 guard spent four seasons playing college basketball at San Diego State University. His best season as an Aztec came during his senior season, the 2020-21 season, seeing as he averaged 14.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game in 28 games played with the team (27 starts).

Schakel will likely need to turn heads in Boston's front office during training camp in order to earn a guaranteed contract, considering the Celtics already have plenty of depth at the guard spots.
