Larry Bird is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players of all-time. His Hall of Fame career consists of three NBA championships, three Most Valuable Player awards, 12 All-Star selections, and numerous other accolades.

In a recent interview on VladTV, Dennis Rodman told Gilbert Arenas that he doesn’t believe Bird would succeed in the modern NBA.

“If Larry Bird played in this era, I think he’d be [playing overseas] in Europe. I’m just letting you know man,” said Rodman. “He’d be somewhere over there. His game was fit for Boston at that time in the 80s and stuff like that, but in today’s world, ‘oh hell no’ there’s no way.”

Rodman’s Detroit Pistons and Bird’s Boston Celtics were engaged in an intense rivalry during the 1980s, as they met in the 1987 and 1988 Eastern Conference Finals.

As captured by VladTV, Rodman also ranked two-time MVP Nikola Jokic ahead of Bird.

“I think the kid from Denver is way better than him. Oh, my God, he is slow as hell. Okay, so, but that guy got a game. I think he is better than Larry Bird.”
