The Portland Trail Blazers will work quickly to reroute Jrue Holiday, a move aimed at expediting their rebuild.

And while there's a lengthy list of teams working to acquire the five-time All-Defensive team selection, an Eastern Conference title contender and one of the top teams in the West a season ago are believed to be out of the mix.

According to The Athletic's Sam Amick, the Sacramento Kings will not be in the sweepstakes for the two-time All-Star.

And while these situations are fluid, given the contentious and at times volatile nature of negotiations between Portland and the Miami Heat during the latter's failed pursuit of Damian Lillard, the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson labeled the idea of the Heat re-engaging the Trail Blazers about Holiday "seemingly unappealing if not unrealistic."

While the 33-year-old guard with championship pedigree is unlikely to land in Sacramento or South Beach, the Boston Celtics face considerable competition for the 14-year veteran's services, including from the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, and New York Knicks, to name a few.

Boston's reportedly on Holiday's list of preferred destinations, a wish list that carries weight since his contract contains a $37.4 million player option for the 2024-25 campaign, allowing him to enter free agency next summer.

But as previously explored, there's also the question of what it would cost the Celtics to put forth what Portland deems the best offer on the table and whether that price is worth paying.
