Interesting News for Clippers and Lakers Announced

The recently renamed Crypto.com Arena will reportedly be keeping its name after the company shut down its institutional exchange in the United States. In a report from ESPN's Dave McMenamin, it was announced that this news on Friday is not expected to affect the arena's name.

Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as Staples Center, is home to the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers, along with the Sparks of the WNBA, and Kings of the NHL. This was certainly interesting news, as the trajectory of Crypto.com has been something to monitor since the company overtook Staples as the name of the Downtown LA arena.

While Crypto.com Arena is currently home to both the Clippers and Lakers, this is the final NBA season it will host both teams. The Clippers will be moving into the brand new Intuit Dome for the 2024-25 season, which will be their new home after over two decades in Staples Center/Crypto.com Arena.

While the name of a building is mostly inconsequential, it does become memorable in many ways. That said, it's the overall quality of an arena that really impacts its overall experience, which is why the Clippers and their fanbase are so excited for the move from Crypto.com Arena to the Intuit Dome after this upcoming season.

As of right now, with Crypto.com shutting down their institutional exchange in the United States, the name of the Downtown LA arena is not expected to change.
