DeMar DeRozan Gets Honest About Playing for Lakers or Clippers

In this story:
An LA basketball legend, Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan used to feel like he needed to play at home for the Los Angeles Lakers or LA Clippers at some point in his NBA career. Now at a stage in his career where he's fine without playing for one of his home teams, DeRozan joined Clippers star Paul George on a recent episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and entertainment, to discuss this dynamic.
"I used to feel like that," DeRozan said when George asked if he ever wants to play in Los Angeles. "I used to think like, man I gotta play home so I could see what it's like. It's like I get it from both ways now. From home, and I'm able to represent home from where I'm playing. I'm at a stage now where I'm okay now if I don't. It's not like an ultimate desire of mine."

George and DeRozan discussed the possibility of teaming up prior to the Bulls star signing in Chicago, but the financial logistics were just unrealistic at that time. It was something all parties were interested in, but the Clippers were unable to offer DeRozan anywhere close to what he signed for in Chicago, which is something George was unaware of at the time he was recruiting his friend to LA.
A basketball legend in Los Angeles, DeRozan is content representing his city from wherever he plays.
