The Dallas Mavericks handed the LA Clippers their fourth-straight loss on Friday night, and third-straight with James Harden. After an up and down start to the year, particularly with his shot, Mavericks star Kyrie Irving got going in this one, finishing with 27 points and five made threes.

Having played with new Clippers guard James Harden on the Brooklyn Nets alongside another superstar in Kevin Durant, Irving was asked postgame about what LA is going through right now integrating a new star into the mix.

"They are going through what all of us humans go through, it's just adjustment periods to playing with other great players and playing with other great thinkers out there," Irving told reporters. "They're all students of the game, I think they appreciate the talent they do have, but it's gonna take them a few more games to figure out spacing, to figure out when is the time to push. Individually they're incredible... But when you're playing a team game it's only one basketball out there. To find some offensive continuity takes time."

Irving said this process could be frustrating, and while he didn't feel any frustration from the Clippers, he said he did feel a sense of confusion at times. The Mavericks star added he doesn't expect to see this level of confusion the next time Dallas and LA face off, and ended his answer with a message of encouragement for the Clippers.

"Right now they’re going through those ups and downs in the public forum where they are getting criticized for not winning games even tho they’re as great as anyone in the league... Collectively I know they’ll be better, but right now they're trying to find their way. I wish them well."
