Even though the NBA restart has yet to tip-off, it isn't too early to start thinking about the LA Clippers' upcoming postseason run. After all, the first round is set to begin on August 17 — exactly one month from today.

Coach Doc Rivers spoke a bit about the team's gameplan for the playoffs on Friday morning, though he made it clear that there's still quite a bit to figure out.

"We know who we want to play, but as far as the rotations and the minutes, I think that's still a little bit in flux."

It's no surprise that the rotations aren't set in stone just yet. The seeding games will probably help shape them, but it's important to keep in mind that as currently constructed (with the exception of Joakim Noah), this team has only played a handful of games together.

It's going to take plenty of time, research and testing to determine what works and what doesn't, and Rivers hinted that he'll be experimenting during LA's scrimmage games — which he's referring to as the preseason from here on out.

"They're probably preseason games, and that is up to each team to do whatever they want to do in them. I typically try a lot of stuff in those games just because it's a different opponent."

Rivers has previously talked about implementing a small-ball lineup with someone like Marcus Morris at the five, so there's a chance we could see all sorts of new looks from LA once the scrimmage games begin next week, but that doesn't necessarily mean any of them will stick throughout the postseason.

Regardless of what Rivers and the coaching staff decide to go with, the Clippers will be in an excellent position to make a deep run into the playoffs.

Two-way stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both tend to play their best basketball during the postseason, and they'll be complemented by focused role players and the highest-scoring bench in the league.

LA's first scrimmage is set for July 22, though it's unlikely to be televised. Instead, we can expect to get our first look at the Clippers in over four months next Saturday when they take on the Washington Wizards.
