NBA Coach Gets Honest About Russell Westbrook

In this story:
Following one of the UCLA Rico Hines runs, Hines himself shared a strong message about LA Clippers star Russell Westbrook. A current assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers, Hines has been around the game for a long time, and has a high level of appreciation for who Westbrook is.
"First ballot Hall-of-Famer, one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball. Period. One of the best players to ever play the game of basketball, and he’s in here diving on the floor. For the last however many years, he comes in here, along with everybody else, and he plays as hard as anybody else on the court. Every summer."

These were strong words from Hines, and they were 100% correct. Having seen Westbrook up close every summer, Hines knows how hard he plays, even in an exhibition setting like these runs. One of the greatest players in league history, Westbrook could take his summer easy if he wanted to, especially this late into his career. Instead always looking to improve his game, Westbrook works as hard as anybody in the offseason.
This work ethic and overall approach to the game is one if the many reasons the Clippers made it a priority to re-sign Westbrook this summer. Hoping to compete for a championship in his hometown, Westbrook will be a big piece for the Clippers next season.
