WNBA Star Reacts to LeBron James Retirement Rumors

On the latest episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and Entertainment, WNBA star A'Ja Wilson joined LA Clippers star Paul George to discuss several topics, including the retirement noise surrounding Lakers star LeBron James.

"Do I think [LeBron is] gonna retire? No, I don’t think so but I do think he needs time to just chill," Wilson said. "I feel like this season was a lot… So I think he just needs time to dissect it all and just really take it all in. But I don’t think he's going to retire."

This seems to be the opinion held by most. While James was honest in admitting that he has a lot to think about this summer, including the overall future of his playing career, many feel as if the Lakers star will be back next season for year 21.

James has one year left on his contract with the Lakers, including an additional player option for the 2024-25 season. It has been expected by some that James will opt out of the final season and sign with whatever team drafts his son; however, it now seems like less of a guarantee that James intends to play that long.

Having already accomplished nearly everything there is to accomplish in the NBA, it is understandable why James is taking time to contemplate how much longer he wants to play.
