Draymond Green On Nikola Jovic: "I’ve Been Suspended More Games Than You’ve Played In Your Career"

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green recently poked fun at Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic's one-game suspension

The Miami Heat were without forward Nikola Jovic in Monday's win against the Sacramento Kings because of his one-game suspension.

He was forced to sit due to his involvement in Friday's altercations. Jovic left the bench to defend his teammates, which resulted in the consequence from the NBA.

Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green is perhaps the most known player in recent memory for receiving technical fouls and ejections. The most recent was when Green hit Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face, which resulted in a 12-game suspension.

His experience in the department led Green to send advice to Jovic regarding the incident.

"And then the young fella, Jovic, left the bench. C'mon, young fella, even I know better than that, and I’ve been suspended more games than you’ve played in your career," Green said on 'The Draymond Green Show'. "C'mon young fella, you can't leave the bench who is over there on that bench, telling him, 'hey man, no, stay over here'...somebody over there on that Miami bench, y'all make sure y'all designate somebody to keep the players on the bench. Young fella, learn your lesson, though. Don’t let them get you with the easiest one. Even mine, they gotta make a decision. Don't let them get you like that."

Although his claim of being suspended for more games than Jovic has played is false, the totals are comically close. Green has been suspended for 21 games in his career while Jovic has appeared in 38.

Jovic is averaging 5.8 points and 4.1 rebounds on 42.7 percent shooting in 23 games this season. The 20-year-old forward is one of the youngest sophomores in the league, leaving plenty of time to learn and develop.

Heat star Jimmy Butler was also suspended for a single game because of the altercation. Butler hosted a watch party with Jovic and center Thomas Bryant for the Kings game.
