Eastern Conference Recaps, March 12: Mikal Bridges’s 25 Points Fueled Brooklyn Nets’ Victory Against Denver Nuggets

Brooklyn Nets' Mikal Bridges has yet another big game against Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic

Bridges scored 25 points in the victory

Mikal Bridges has been the star for the Brooklyn Nets.

He scored 25 points to lead the Nets to a 122-120 victory against the Denver Nuggets. Nikola Jokic had a chance to win it but his buzzer-beating, turnaround 3-pointer bounced off the rim.

Down 69-61 at halftime, the Nets outscored the Nuggets 37-18 in the third quarter. The Nuggets then made a late push in the fourth quarter to get back within single-digits.

“Even if we don’t know what we’re doing sometimes, just scrambling, all five guys help each other,” Bridges said. “Sometimes, it’s not going to be perfect, but I think just the next guy stepping up is the biggest thing.”

For Bridges, it was just his seventh game under 30 points since being acquired in the Kevin Durant trade last month. Nic Claxton had 20 points and Spencer Dinwiddie had 15 points and a season-high 16 assists.

Jokic led the Nuggets with 35 points, 20 rebounds, and 11 assists. It was his second triple-double this season which included 20 or more rebounds.
