Eastern Conference Recaps, March 17: The Atlanta Hawks Gave The Golden State Warriors Their 10th Straight Road Loss

Trae Young recorded 25 points and 12 assists in the Atlanta Hawks’ victory against the Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors’ road struggles continued.

The Atlanta Hawks defeated Golden State 127-119, handing the Warriors their 10th straight road loss. 

Trae Young, who led the way with 25 points and 12 assists, stole the ball and made a layup with 45 seconds left to secure the victory.

“They were trying to get the switch, trying to get the mismatch,” Young said. “I just timed it perfectly.”

John Collins had 22 points and Onyeka Okongwu led all reserves with 19. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 31 points and Donte DiVincenzo had 18.

OTHER NOTES:

-Joel Embiid is still improving his case for MVP. He recorded 38 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 121-82 victory against the Charlotte Hornets. Tobias Harris had 18 points while James Harden recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, his fifth triple-double this season.

Terry Rozier led the Hornets with 14 points and P.J. Washington had 12.

NEXT 76ERS GAME AGAINST THE HEAT: Apr. 6 in Philadelphia

-The Cleveland Cavaliers are getting closer to securing their first playoff berth since 2018. They rode Darius Garland’s 24 points to grab a 117-94 victory against the Washington Wizards. Evan Mobley and Donovan Mitchell scored 20 points while Caris LeVert had 15 off the bench.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 22 points and Kristaps Porzingis had 20.

NEXT WIZARDS GAME AGAINST THE HEAT: Apr. 7 in Washington

-Despite a huge game from Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum’s 34 points and 12 rebounds led the Boston Celtics to a 126-112 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers. Jaylen Brown had 27 points and Marcus had 15. Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 41 points and Anfernee Simons had 17.
