Eastern Conference Recaps, March 20: The Chicago Bulls Snapped The Philadelphia 76ers’ Eight-Game Winning Streak

Chicago Bulls standouts Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan combined for 51 points in victory

The Chicago Bulls have inched their way higher in the play-in tournament.

Zach LaVine scored 26 points to lead the Bulls to a 109-105 double overtime victory against the Philadelphia 76ers. The win snapped the 76ers’ eight-game winning streak.

“We have a bigger goal in mind,” said DeMar DeRozan, who finished with 25 points. “We’re fighting for our life every game. We’re just playing with that desperation right now.”

Nikola Vucevic had 21 points and 12 rebounds and Coby White had 11 off the bench. Joel Embiid recorded 37 points and 16 rebounds to lead the 76ers and Tyrese Maxey had 22 points.

OTHER NOTES:

-The Minnesota Timberwolves overcame Julius Randle’s huge night when they defeated the New York Knicks 140-134. Taurean Prince had a season-high 35 points and Mike Conley had 24 points and 11 assists.

Randle scored a career-high 57 points, scoring 26 of them in the third quarter. He came close to breaking Carmelo Anthony’s 62-point record set on Jan. 24, 2014.

NEXT KNICKS GAME AGAINST THE HEAT: Mar. 22 at Miami

-The Charlotte Hornets rallied from a 21-point deficit to grab a 115-109 victory against the Indiana Pacers. Kelly Oubre led the way with 28 points and Terry Rozier had 23. Myles Turner and Buddy Hield led the Pacers with 20 points.
