Eastern Conference Recaps, March 27: Milwaukee Bucks Defeated Detroit Pistons Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Absence

The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t let Giannis Antetokounmpo’s absence stop them.

Khris Middleton scored a season-high 34 points to lead them to a 126-117 victory against the NBA-worst Detroit Pistons. It was the most he scored since Mar. 13 when he had 31.

“Khris has looked really good since he came back from the injury,” Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said. “He's obviously going to be shooting it, but he's doing a lot of good things defensively right now.”

Brook Lopez recorded 24 points and 14 rebounds while Bobby Portis had 21 points and 14 rebounds. Rookie Jaden Ivey led the Pistons with 32 points and rookie Jalen Duren led the bench with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

OTHER NOTES:

-With Jalen Brunson sidelined a second straight game due to a hand injury, the New York Knicks used Immanuel Quickley’s huge night to grab a 137-115 victory against the Western Conference-worst Houston Rockets. He scored a career-high 40 points, the most since Mar. 5. Julius Randle had 26 points and RJ Barrett scored 19. Kevin Porter led the Rockets with 26 points.

NEXT KNICKS AGAINST THE HEAT: Mar. 29 in New York

-After losing four consecutive games, the Dallas Mavericks have started their hunt back into the play-in tournament. Led by Luka Doncic’s 25 points, they secured a 127-104 victory against the Indiana Pacers. Kyrie Irving had 16 points and rookie Jaden Hardy scored 20 off the bench.

Rookie Bennedict Mathurin recorded 26 points for the Pacers and Andrew Nembhard had 17.
