LeBron James and Anthony Davis deservedly get all the headline for the Los Angeles Lakers

On Monday, there was a newcomer in the spotlight.

Guard Lonnie Walker scored all 15 of his points in the fourth quarter to help lead the Lakers to a 104-101 victory against the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. The Lakers lead the series 3-1.

“We don’t win this game tonight without Lonnie Walker, that’s for sure," James said. "As hard as this game was, it’s going to be even harder. We understand that. We know that.”

James led the Lakers with 27 points and Davis had 23 points and 15 rebounds, but it was Walker who up big late. The Warriors led by 12 in the third quarter before his outburst.

“(It’s) the greatest feeling you could ever imagine,” Walker said. “As a kid, this is something I've been dreaming of.”

Walker was a starter at the beginning of the season before getting injured and eventually falling out of the rotation. Now, the Lakers are one win from knocking out the defending champions. Golden State was led by guard Stephen Curry's 31 points.

“The kid is a beautiful kid,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “He fell out of the rotation through no fault of his own, but he remained professional. He remained high-spirited, positive, and really kept working on his game every day, especially in these playoffs. When your mind is in the right place, your body follows.”

Game 5 is Wednesday in San Francisco.
