LeBron James on Game 2: "We Have to be Desperate as the Opponent"
The Miami Heat will likely be without center Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic against the Los Angeles Lakers Friday in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Both players are dealing with injuries. In their absence, the Heat will turn to reserves guard Kendrick Nunn and forwards Kelly Olynyk, Meyers Leonard and Derrick Jones Jr.
Here's what the Lakers are saying heading in:
Lakers forward LeBron James: "For us as the ballclub and as us the Lakers, Game 1 is over and in Game 2, we've got to better than we were in Game 1. "When we approach with that mindset and be as desperate as the opponent, then we give ourselves a good chance to win."
Lakers coach Frank Vogel: "The injury report can change overnight and we have to be prepared for those guys to be in until game time, until they're ruled out. Secondly, they've got a deep team. We saw that in the fourth quarter [of Game 1], how Nunn played, how Olynyk played, how Derrick Jones played. We know they have an army of guys that play a great style that's very difficult to guard ... We've got to prepare for whoever's in uniform."
Lakers forward Anthony Davis: "You want to play so well and get off to a 1-0 start. Now, you have that Game 1 and you know what it's going to feel like, you what it takes. It's just about going out and competing at a high level. You know what adjustments you have to make."
