The Miami Heat are reportedly considering waiving guard Kyle Lowry if they are unable to find a trade partner this off season.

The Heat fan base is having mixed reactions to this news after Lowry performed well in the postseason, but he is well past the prime of his career. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald first reported the news Tuesday morning

This news for some Heat fans is great, as Lowry is well past the peak of his career. He averaged 11.2 points and 5.1 assists during the regular season. He is set to make about 30 million dollars next season, and fans believe waiving him would open cap space to bring in new players or re-sign free agents Gabe Vincent and Max Strus.

On the contrary, some Heat fans are mentioning the fact Lowry was one of the best-performing players during the Finals. Lowry averaged only 10.8 points and 4.8 assists against the Nuggets but shot 42.3 percent from beyond the arc. A lot of Miami fans would be sad to see Lowry waived after his contributions during the postseason.

The Toronto Raptors fan base is becoming excited about this news. They are hoping for a potential reunion with Lowry, who helped bring them their first championship. He spent his prime with the Raptors and was a six-time all-star during his time there while earning an All-NBA team selection. He was loved by the city of Toronto, and with the Raptors potentially needing a point guard, the fan base would love to see Lowry brought back.
