TOP PLAYERS OF THE DAY:

Anthony Edwards’ 33 points wasn’t enough to get the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Sacramento Kings the last time they played.

Edwards made sure to close things out in the rematch Saturday night. He had 27 points, eight assists and four rebounds with five fourth-quarter points. The Timberwolves snapped Sacramento’s five-game winning streak.

“We play a lot in the flow,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said. “A lot of it is putting our guys in a situation and letting them play. A lot of that stuff was Anthony stepping up at the right time, making the right play, and making the right read.”

OTHERS:

- Fred VanVleet had 25 points, 10 assists and three steals in the Toronto Raptors’ overtime win against the Washington Wizards. VanVleet hit two 3-pointers in the extra period to put the Raptors back in ninth place of the Eastern Conference.

- Darius Garland’s 21-point performance helped the Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Detroit Pistons. Garland went 5 of 6 from 3-point range, adding seven assists and two steals to round out his game against Detroit.

- Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason stuffed the stat sheet in the win over the San Antonio Spurs, ending the night with 20 points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

- The Philadelphia 76ers rallied against the Milwaukee Bucks behind a superstar performance from James Harden. Harden had 38 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds to help the Sixers overcome an 18-point deficit and snap Milwaukee’s 16-game winning streak.
