Previewing The Miami Heat's Record After 10 Games

In this story:
The Miami Heat are less than a week away from playing their regular season opener.
Last season, the Heat began with a 4-6 record, but how will their first 10 games shake out this year? Here's a look:
Oct. 25 - vs. Detroit Pistons (W)
There’s no doubt Miami should start on a high note with a win here. Detroit’s core of Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Ausar Thompson are inexperienced compared to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The excitement from last year's improbable NBA Finals run should carry over.
Oct. 27 - at Boston Celtics (L)
This is hardly a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference finals. The new-look Celtics with Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis provide an early test for a Heat team that has the same core a fifth straight season. The mismatches provided through these additions will cause struggles for Miami.
Oct. 28 - at Minnesota Timberwolves (W)
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is looking to cement himself among the superstars of the league. However, Tyler Herro and Adebayo should dominate their matchups. The frontcourt duo of Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns was ineffective last season.
Oct. 30 - at Milwaukee Bucks (L)
One of the most anticipated games on the NBA schedule. After coveting Damian Lillard all offseason, the Heat face him and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The dominance of the superstar duo on the offensive end is a problem for an undersized Heat lineup.
Nov. 1 - vs. Brooklyn Nets (W)
In a rematch from the preseason, Miami should have nearly all of their starters healthy. Herro, Butler, and Caleb Martin were sidelined in the three-point loss. For the Nets, Mikal Bridges and Ben Simmons need to grow chemistry before having success.
Nov. 3 - vs. Washington Wizards (W)
A home game against one of the weakest teams that just began their rebuild. Jordan Poole is a threat to score 50 points on any night, but Adebayo should have a big game against a lesser frountcourt.
Nov. 6 - vs. Los Angeles Lakers (L)
The two teams from the 2020 NBA Finals square off in a close game. Butler vs. LeBron James and Adebayo vs. Anthony Davis are premier matchups. Davis' size advantage over Adebayo will play a key factor.
Nov. 8 - at Memphis Grizzlies (W)
With Ja Morant sidelined, Butler and Herro should lead the Heat in scoring while Adebayo takes care of Jaren Jackson Jr. In the preseason, Adebayo shut down Jackson while having four blocks.
Nov. 11 - at Atlanta Hawks (W)
Hawks guard Trae Young will look to make this game a high-scoring affair. The script for this game shows that Butler and Adebayo should prove why their among the best duo's in the league.
Nov. 12 - at San Antonio Spurs (W)
Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs got the best of Miami in the preseason, but don’t expect the same result in this game. Although the No. 1 pick will perform, the rest of the Spurs roster is lacking.
The Heat are not known for their regular season dominance meaning they will likely fall to championship contenders. However, outside of the Celtics, Bucks, and Lakers, Miami should win seven of their first 10 games.
