Stephen Curry Agrees With Dwyane Wade About There Being Multiple GOATs

In this story:
When it comes to the famous G.O.A.T. debate, most people are one-sided. Only a select few actually believe there could be more than one.
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was the latest person to join the group. In a recent interview with Today, he points to the different eras in which the two legends competed in as to why there could be more than one G.O.A.T.
"I ascribe to the mindset that there are multiple GOATs," Curry said. "And I hate that, it's not a cop-out answer, but it's so hard to compare eras. And getting into that conversation of 'oh if you put Michael in this era or if you put LeBron in that era,' it's kind of unfair. It's a great barbershop debate, and it's something that'll never stop until the end of time."
Curry echoed the same opinion Miami Heat icon Dwyane Wade gave in 2022. Wade believed the G.O.A.T. is ranked by their generation.
“I never saw Bill Russell play," Wade said. "I never saw Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] play. Obviously they are someone else’s GOATs. But my GOAT, I grew up in Chicago, so Jordan is mine.
He continued saying, “I also understand that the generation that’s here now, LeBron James is their GOAT. Before LeBron, it was Kobe Bryant. It just becomes who you grow up watching , who you see and envision and say ’Oh I want to be that person.’”
While Curry only played against James, Wade had experience being his teammate. The two played together for the Heat between 2010-2014, winning back-to-back championships. It was also then when James finally inserted himself into the G.O.A.T. debate.
Curry and Wade have legit arguments but a lot of people have also used the different eras to support their choice of Jordan being the G.O.A.T. Many believe the NBA in the 90s were more physical as opposed to the current state of basketball.
Regardless of the stances, this is a debate that is going to continue to grow.
