Western Conference Recaps, March 24: Despite Joel Embiid's 46 Points, The Golden State Warriors Rally Past Philadelphia 76ers

The Golden State Warriors erase an 11-point deficit against the Philadelphia 76ers behind Steph Curry, Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson

The Golden State Warriors erased an 11-point deficit to secure a 120-112 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers. Jordan Poole scored 33 points off the bench while Stephen Curry had 29 and Klay Thompson had 21.

With James Harden sidelined a second straight game with an Achilles injury, Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 46 points.

OTHER NOTES:

-All five Charlotte Hornets starters scored in double-figure points to grab a 117-109 victory against the Dallas Mavericks. P.J. Washington led the way with 28 points and Gordon Hayward had 25. Luka Doncic’s 34 points and 10 rebounds led the Mavericks and Kyrie Irving had 18 upon his return from a foot injury.

-The Memphis Grizzlies clinched a playoff berth for the third consecutive season.

Luke Kennard tied his career-high with 30 points off the bench to lead the Grizzlies to a 151-114 victory against the Houston Rockets. He also recorded a career and franchise-high 10 3-pointers on 90 percent shooting.

“When you start hitting a couple in a row, usually about three for me, I start feeling it a little bit,” Kennard said. “It’s the kind of thing where once it leaves your hand, you think it’s going in. So, it was pretty fun.”

Desmond Bane scored 25 points and Ja Morant had 18 points off the bench. Rookie Tari Eason led the Rockets with 21 points off the bench and Kevin Porter had 20.

-After being sidelined three games due to a popliteus injury, Kevin Huerter returned with a 29-point performance to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 135-127 victory against the Phoenix Suns. Domantas Sabonis scored 27 points and De’Aaron Fox had 19. Devin Booker led the Suns with 32 points.

-The Los Angeles Lakers increased their playoff hopes after a 116-111 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Anthony Davis led the way with 37 points and 15 rebounds and Dennis Schroder recorded 21 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 27 points while Josh Giddey had 27 points and a season-high 17 rebounds.
