Could We Have Seen the Last of Kyle Lowry in a Miami Heat Jersey?

In this story:
With the trade deadline on Thursday, Kyle Lowry may not be a member of the Miami Heat by the time he recovers from missing three games because of a knee injury.
Lowry’s tenure with the Heat has been a disappointment. When first arriving in Miami, some thought he, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo could be a potential Big Three to win a championship. However, injuries and age have reduced Lowry’s production. He took a dip in scoring the last two years, averaging the fewest points since his 2012-13 season.
He was arguably the worst starting point guard in the 2022 playoffs, averaging just 7.8 points on 29 percent shooting from the field. Had Lowry been a more consistent scorer, Butler would not be pressured on willing the team to victory every game.

Some thought Lowry would have a redemption season after a subpar playoff display, but he only continues to decline. Lowry has several games this season with more personal fouls than field goals. He’s had some decent performances throughout the season but has not been consistent enough to start if Miami wants to contend. Lowry’s veteran presence and leadership unfortunately can’t continue to justify his poor play.

Fans have been calling for the Heat to trade Lowry nearly the entire season. With the trade deadline two days away, Heat president Pat Riley can make a push to upgrade at that position. However, Lowry’s injury could detriment potential trades.
This could put a pin in the hopes of Lowry’s departure from Heat fans.
