Eastern Conference Recaps, March 21: Trae Young Led Balanced Atlanta Hawks Against Detroit Pistons

Trae Young led the Hawks with 30 points and 12 assists

Seven Atlanta Hawks players scored double-figure points to secure a 129-107 victory against the NBA-worst Detroit Pistons.

Trae Young led the way with 30 points and 12 assists while Bogdan Bogdanovic had 18 points. Clint Capela had 12 points and 16 rebounds and Saddiq Bey recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.

“Our bigs did a great job,” Young said. “Even our guards getting in there. Everybody playing hard and attacking the rebounds.”

Marvin Bagley led the Pistons with 31 points and Killian Hayes had 21.

OTHER NOTES:

-The Orlando Magic scored 35 points in the fourth quarter to take a 122-112 victory against the Washington Wizards. Gary Harris led the way with 22 points and Franz Wagner had 20. After being sidelined a game due to an illness, Kristaps Porzingis scored 30 points for the Wizards.

-The Cleveland Cavaliers are getting closer to securing a playoff berth for the first time since 2018. Donovan Mitchell recorded 31 points to lead them to a 115-109 victory against the Brooklyn Nets. Evan Mobley had 17 and Caris LeVert led the bench with 18.

Day’Ron Sharpe had 20 points and 11 rebounds off the Nets’ bench while Spencer Dinwiddie had 19 points and 11 assists.
