No major off-season acquisitions. Barely beating the Chicago Bulls to make the playoffs. No Tyler Herro.

And yet, the Miami Heat are one win away from going to the NBA Finals. The Heat took a commanding 3-0 lead against the Boston Celtics Sunday night, further shocking those already in amazement of their postseason run.

Jimmy Butler got his usual MVP chants at the free throw line, and deservingly so. He had 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists. But it was the effort of the others that allowed Miami to cruise to victory. Gabe Vincent had a playoff career-high 29 points.

Duncan Robinson contributed 22 points, Caleb Martin had 18, while Bam Adebayo had 13 on a couple of slam dunks that had social media going crazy.

Butler’s isolated superstar performances have dwindled as the postseason has developed, mainly because of contributions from the rest of the team.

The Heat are 3-1 in their last four playoffs series against Boston, with the only Celtics win coming from Butler missing a 3-pointer to end the game. Miami got the chance to flaunt against Boston once again as the series is all but over.

It doesn’t help that stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were a combined 12 of 35 from the field for 26 points and six turnovers.

Udonis Haslem may end his career with a fourth ring. A sentence we never thought would be said at the beginning of the season, but here we are.

The Heat look to close out the series Tuesday night.
