The Miami Heat claimed their largest victory margin of the season, 129-96, over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And it was all thanks to veteran Kyle Lowry.

Although a particular play did not highlight the bunch, Lowry’s start to the night stuck out.

His hot start handed the Heat an 11-point lead entering the second quarter. He began the game by shooting 5 of 5 from beyond the arc. Lowry’s first pair of threes were the Heat’s opening points, draining both open looks. After finding his touch, Lowry nailed a contested shot. After this streak, Miami fed the hot hand. This led to his fourth and fifth consecutive makes.

He concluded the game with 28 points and three assists on 60 percent shooting and 7 of 10 shooting from beyond the arc. Not to mention, Lowry and Jimmy Butler did not play in the final quarter.

The Heat thrived from three-point range, shooting 57.1 percent. Meanwhile, Cleveland shot 46.7 percent on 30 attempts.

The last time Lowry recorded more than 20 points was on April 11, 2023, against Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.

If Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro continue to miss time, Lowry stepping up on the offensive end is a great addition. Although this performance is not sustainable, efficiency is key for his success.
